The Sea, the eternal sea, waits!

Time flows in waves washing;

The constant flow of both mingle;

Overlapping and intertwining.

A Welsh village founded in the early 1800's to harness the wealth of coal created a community that has continually rediscovered itself.

An Elizabethan garden offers something to those who can identify with history within its confines and concepts.

Miners daily risked their lives, many lost their life. Death and incapacity claimed large numbers. Beer has been the placebo that has contained revolution.

Social interaction leaves an impression. Some say 'first impressions' count. Society evolves by the interaction of individuals. 1984 has come and gone and in its wake there is some truth.

Two restaurants on opposing sides of a hill have become fixtures in a village, each a focal point that draws its own clientele.

Is the structure and use of language important!

The young need to have dreams, dreams that can be converted to visions that will become the innovation and invention to drive the development of humanity to its highest level. If we cannot be the catalyst we become the detractors of such possibility.

A history of a village.

The bells of Rhymney sang and Idris Davies listened. Those images once captured have been replaced by a vacant space that may never again be filled.

A picture, a photograph, captures a split second in time. The local bar, public house, tavern, each does the same. The Blast Furnace Inn was built to accommodate the needs of hard working labourers who toiled in the iron making process. The modern pub suffers with the problem of the cost of alcohol and entertaining its patrons. The mix of those who are attracted to the most frequented does not ensure a viable business. The personality of the proprietor is of equal importance to continuance..

The Farmer's Arms, a changing face, successful or not?

The National Health Care system is assessed by the personal experience found in the visit to the Health Centre. Those who influence the outcome include not only the medical and support staff, also those one finds waiting.

Three counties marked the place where roads converged. The borders of three counties set the place for an inn where travellers in earlier times rested between journeys. Valleys were developed and exploited by those travellers.

The villages of South Wales were built by immigrants eager to survive in the post agricultural society of the 1700's. Coal and iron brought a wide range of skilled and semi skilled workers, who eventually, like the elements they worked, were welded and forged into communities. Singing evolved in choral tradition for over one hundred years. Unfortunately, this tradition is one of the many that will be lost.

What is the purpose of life? Birth, growth, education, work, retirement, death! What path is followed?

Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Milton. Poets, playwrights, philosophers. What is their legacy? What of those others who have observed and recorded their impressions, are they identified as bards who may be immortalised?
